Han Seo Jin, Noh Seung Hye, Jin Jin Hee, and Lee Myung Joo all reside with their families in SKY Castle, an exclusive private community where wealthy doctors and professors live. The community was established by the first president of Joo Nam University, the top university in Korea. The women are determined to see their children gain admission to prestigious universities and actively support their education.

Tragedy strikes when Myung Joo unexpectedly takes her own life after her son gains acceptance to Seoul National University's medical program. The community is in disbelief, and Myung Joo's family promptly moves away from SKY Castle. However, the shock intensifies when Lee Soo Im and her less affluent family move in. Soo Im takes it upon herself to assist the stressed-out children and challenge the other women of SKY Castle.
