During the Joseon Dynasty, there was a young woman named Hong Chun Ki who defied the Confucian values of the time by pursuing a career as a painter, breaking the gender norms of Joseon Korea. Despite being born blind, she somehow acquired a sense of vision and was eventually accepted into the most prestigious art college in the land. It was there that she met Ha Ram, an astrologer whose fate was the complete opposite of her own. Although he was born with sight, he lost his vision in a childhood accident. However, he possessed an incredible talent that allowed him to predict the future by reading the movement of the stars at night, despite his blindness.
As they navigate their respective disabilities and talents, the duo finds themselves drawn into the political intrigues of the royal court, particularly those involving two princes. There is Prince Yang Myung, a free-spirited individual, and the cruel, scheming Prince Joo Hyang, who harbors ambitions of becoming the next king of Joseon. The lives of Hong Chun Ki and Ha Ram become entangled with the power struggles and turmoil of the court, as they struggle to navigate their own personal challenges and the dangers posed by those around them.
As their paths intertwine and their abilities complement each other, Hong Chun Ki and Ha Ram find themselves at the center of a dangerous game of politics and power. Despite their disabilities and societal restrictions, they must use their unique talents and determination to navigate the treacherous world of the Joseon court. The story of their unlikely partnership and the obstacles they face serves as a powerful exploration of gender norms, disability, and the pursuit of personal fulfillment in a society that seeks to limit their potential based on rigid expectations.
